Roberto Rizzi Brignoli: Conductor

Roberto Rizzi Brignoli graduated in piano studies at the Conservatoire G. Verdi in Milan, where he also completed his studies in composition and in orchestra conduction. It was Maestro Gavazzeni who subsequently introduced him to Teatro alla Scala, where he later collaborated for a long time and became head of musical services within the artistic management till 2002.
This experience turned out to be of paramount importance for his artistic development, most especially when he met M. Riccardo Muti, of whom he was the assistant in many opera and symphonic productions – particularly Verdi ones - at Teatro alla Scala.
The event that made him famous at national as well as international level was the conduction of Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia, during the opera season 1997-98 at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
He has conducted many opera productions as Otello, La Traviata, Rigoletto, I Due Foscari, L'elisir D'amore, Adriana Lecouvreur, La Fille Du Régiment, at more than 30 theaters like Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Opera of Rome, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Sferisterio in Macerata, Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Frankfurt Opera, Chorégies d'Orange …

Roberto Rizzi Brignoli est diplômé en études de piano au Conservatoire G. Verdi de Milan, où il a achevé ses études en composition et en direction d'orchestre .
C’est Maestro Gavazzeni qui l'introduit à la Scala , où il est devenu chef des service musicaux jusqu'en 2002.
Cette expérience s'est avérée être d'une importance primordiale pour son développement artistique , surtout quand il a rencontré M. Riccardo Muti, de qui il a été l'assistant.

L'événement qui l’a rendu célèbre au niveau national et international a été la direction de Lucrezia Borgia de Donizetti au cours de la saison 1997-1998 à l’opéra de la Scala de Milan.
Il a dirigé de nombreuses productions d'opéra comme Otello , La Traviata, Rigoletto, I Due Foscari , L'élixir d'amour, Adriana Lecouvreur , La Fille du Régiment , dans plus de 30 théâtres comme la Scala de Milan , l'Opéra de Rome Teatro Verdi de Trieste , Rossini Opera Festival de Pesaro , Sphéristère Teatro Comunale de Florence , l'Opéra de Francfort , les Chorégies d'Orange…

Sonya Yoncheva: Soprano

Born in 1981 in Bulgaria, Sonya Yoncheva graduates in piano and voice in her hometown Plovdiv in the class of Nelly Koitcheva and obtains
her diploma in master degree in classical singing in the Conservatory of Geneva in the professional class of Danielle Borst receiving the special prize of the Town of Geneva.
Sonya is the winner of the world´s most famous opera competition "Operalia" 2010, conducted and organized by Placido Domingo at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and she was honoured with the Special Prize "Cultur Arte" offered by Bertita & Guillermo Martinez.
In 2007 after participating in the academy for young singers Jardin des Voix, conducted and organised by William Christie, Sonya receives exciting new engagements in venues such as Glyndebourne Festival, Swiss National Television and Radio, Théâtre du Châtelet, Festival of Proms.

Italian tenor Massimo Giordano enjoys an international career as one of the leading singers in the beautiful and highly sought-after bel canto repertoire. He is known for his warm and virile tone, his expressive singing as well as his charming stage presence. Born in Pompeii, he shortly after moved to Trieste where he studied singing and graduated from the conservatory "G. Tartini".
One of his signature roles is Don Jose in Carmen which he sings to great acclaim on opera stages around the world. In addition, his interpretation of the leading tenor parts
In Tosca, La Traviata, La Bohème, L’elisir D’amore, Manon, Don Carlos, Norma or Werther made him a frequent guest on opera and concert stages

He was born in Castiglione dei Pepoli (Bologna) in 1942, but he lives in Lodi, hometown of his wife, Adriana. After winning several competitions, in 1967 he made his debut at Teatro Sperimentale (A. Belli) of Spoleto as Figaro in Il Barbiere Di Siviglia.
Since its debut in 1977 with Il Barbiere Di Siviglia, he constantly sang at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, participating in two season's opening.
In 1979 he made his debut at the Staatsoper in Vienna with Il Barbiere
Di Siviglia. In this theater he sang nearly 300 performances.
For Teatro alla Scala he recorded Don Carlo, two editions of Aida, Il Barbiere Di Siviglia, Simon Boccanegra, Il Trovatore, Otello, Tosca, Gianni SchicchI, with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Sir Georg Solti. He's probably the only baritone in history to have sung Rigoletto in all the most important theaters in the world, with a total of more than 450 official performances.
