The China National Acrobatic Troupe was founded in 1950.
It actively combines tradition with innovation. It not only preserves many traditional programs, but also integrates acrobatics, music, dance, drama, Chinese kungfu into acrobatics to create many new productions such as "Chinese Soul", "Legend in Wonderland", "The Legend of Magic", "Top Acrobatic Class", "Spectacular Acrobatics", "The Star Dream" and "Splendid". Till now, the China National Acrobatic Troupe has won 48 gold medals including Golden Clown, President Award, Gold Magic Prize, etc. in various international and domestic competitions. Until 2008, it has visited all major cities in China and set foot in more than 115 countries and regions in the world. Its spirit of learning, improving and developing acrobatic art has won high appraise from all over the world.
The China National Acrobatic Troupe has its acrobatic training center with about 200 artists and a circus as well as Li Ning Magic Workshop. Meanwhile, the Beijing International Art School which is directed by the China Acrobatic Troupe has become a comprehensive art academy teaching acrobatics, dance, fine arts, film performing arts, and Chinese Kungfu. The school has students from China, Russia, France, Spain, Korea, Vietnam and many other countries.
After successfully transformed into a cultural enterprise, the China National Acrobatic Troupe is now dedicated with unremitting efforts to reach its target – becoming an influential international acrobatic performing troupe.
"Splendid!" represents the persistent effort of the China National Acrobatic Troupe in pursuit of the perfection of the traditional Chinese culture and acrobatic art. The show gives the traditional acrobatic art with brand new elements by implementing modern techniques in its production. Through this soul touching experience, the concept of "Great acrobatics with vigorous artistic life" has been fully interpreted. It includes 12 acts that cover programs of ballet, hand balancing, plate spinning, air jumping and catching, ball juggling, glass balancing, poles moving, diabolo, trapeze and so on.
