After a 5-year absence, haloed by the international success of her latest album “Ya Nass”, Yasmine Hamdan returns to Beirut for an eagerly anticipated live performance.
For the past 15 years Yasmine has been remodeling the space between western pop and traditional Arabic music; masterfully binding these two worlds since the 1990’s with emblematic duo Soap Kills. She eventually relocated to Paris and collaborated with distinguished musicians and producers, including Mirwais (Madonna) and Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague).
Her bewitching and magnetic album Ya Nass, released last year, has met worldwide success and even drew the attention of American filmmaker Jim Jarmusch. His latest picture “Only Lovers Left Alive”, nominated at the Cannes Festival and the New York film festival, features Yasmine in her own role.
Yasmine Hamdan will present her latest work for the first time in Lebanon.
