This makes him the third longest-serving Bond after Roger Moore, who played the spy seven times, and Sean Connery, who acted in six films.
Pierce Brosnan starred in four films as 007.
Meanwhile, Craig has revealed that he liked to take naps underwater while filming scenes for Skyfall.
He admitted he loved to disappear to catch up on sleep at the bottom of giant water tanks.
Craig told WENN: 'It's my favourite bit because no one can find you. I spent most of my time underwater.
'When we're not shooting I swim to the bottom of the huge tanks at Pinewood [Studios], which are 30 feet deep.
'I just sink to the bottom, put the respirator on and hide.'
Craig, who is a keen scuba diver, added: 'It's so great and sometimes I fall asleep as well and get some sleep down there. It's wonderful being in the water... And then you hear, "Where's Daniel?"'
Skyfall, which also stars Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw, is out on October 26.
