HE FINALLY DID IT!!! After 5 Academy Award nominations, Leonardo DiCaprio finally takes home an Oscar for Best Actor for his role in the movie The Revenant after six nominations.
He was named best actor at the 88th Academy Awards, with Brie Larson named best actress for Room.
Leo is one of the most brilliant actors in Hollywood as he has won over 40 awards, and he will now add a little golden statuette to his collection.
Julianne Moore announced the name of the winner for the Best Actor category, and she looked so happy that it was Leo! “None of this would be possible without you,” he said to his mother while thanking her and others.
Leo then spoke about climate change and how dangerous it actually is. “Making The Revenant was about man’s relationship to the natural world,” he said. “Climate change is real, it is happening now… we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating.”
The Revenant star already picked up a Golden Globe and a Bafta for his performance. The movie itself has also won two Oscars for best cinematography and best director for Alejandro González Iñárritu.
