Justin Bieber stopped by On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday morning with some HUGE news: He’s releasing a new single, “What Do You Mean,” on August 28!

So what is he trying to tell us with that title? “Well, girls are often just flip-floppy,” Justin explained (in a whisper). “They say something and they mean something else. So … what do you mean? I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking.”

Although we won’t get to hear it for another 30 days, JB gave us a description of the uptempo track. “It’s fun, it’s summery … Definitely the first single is amazing. I worked really hard on it with a guy named Poo Bear.”

Fans of Justin’s collaboration with Skrillex and Diplo, “Where Are U Now,” are in for a treat because he says his album — his first in three years — is “along the same lines” as the hit track.

“It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool,” he revealed. “The sounds are super expensive. Skrilex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound. So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I’m doing has been super cool because it’s new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I’m very excited.”

And it’s the result of tireless hours. “I’ve been working a lot in the studio, just trying to have a consistent sound, a cohesive sound,” JB explained. “I get in my head a lot and I get kind of depressed because I want it to work so badly. I want people to love it. I want to inspire people. Sometimes I wonder, ‘Is this good enough? Is this the direction I want to go?’ I had kind of a rough week last week. I get in my head and I don’t want to get out of bed sometimes.”

Justin ended his rough week on a high note surprising two deserving people on Knock Knock Live on Tuesday. The 21-year-old gifted a fan who beat cancer (with the help of his song, “Pray”) with a quinceanera to remember, while also coming to the aid of a single father with a son who has Down Syndrome with a $50,000 check.“For me to just be there in the moment … I’ve seen it in videos and I’ve seen people after the fact who come through and say, ‘Hey, you helped me get through this tough, time,’ but to be there and go to her house and surprise her, it was awesome. I’ve never felt anything like it,” Justin explained.

“I was just talking to [my manger] Scooter [Braun] before and these are the moments when I’m able to do this,” he continued. “She was taking about how she wanted to give up and there’s times I want to stop doing what I do because it gets overwhelming, but I’m reminded of these things and be able to do this for these people is awesome.”
